December 29, 2017

Well, it is getting to the end of the year and we are hoping 2018 treats us well and bodes good things for the United States.  We have had too much in the way of turmoil this past year to suit me.

Here are a couple more pictures of family that I do not think I included yesterday.  One is of a distant cousin who's name I do not remember.  If any of you can remember what his name is that would be appreciated.  Let me know.

Other than the pictures...........nothing new to report.

 Potts Family  December 2017

                                                                      Brian Potts Family

Well, it is almost a new year and we are growing as a family.  I have to report that Joelle Aguilar has had a new baby, Oliver Luke Aguilar, born December 19 in El Paso Texas.  He was 7lbs 15 oz. and was 19.5 inches long.  Mom and Baby are doing fine.
This year has been a pretty good year for most people but our cousin Phyllis had a bad accident earlier this year and still has a messed up foot that will probably need operating on at a later time.  They have been at their daughter Elena's for some time but will be moving into a new home they are having built on their property in Laveen Arizona.
Garland Potts has moved back to Las Cruces New Mexico and his cousins (your's truly Me and Kathy) have also purchased a home back there and will be trying to get our home in Maryland ready to put on the market and get sold.
I let you all know early in the year of our Aunt Juanita's passing and I will also inform you, those that don't know, that Joyce Abbott also passed away unexpectedly this year.  It has saddened us all.  We cousins are getting fewer as the years speed us on our way.
We have seen Leon several times and he is doing as best he can.  They had a very long marriage.
Michael and Kathy's grandchildren, Dennis and Caroline, graduated this year as did Vinita's granddaughter Aliya and I know there were others but can't think of who just now.  Dennis and Caroline are off to college, Dennis to Hamden-Sydney college near Farmville Virginia, and Caroline to Sweet-Briar College in Sweet-Briar Virginia.  About a two or three hour drive from home.  They seem to be happy doing what they are doing though so that is what counts.
McKenzie Potts had to leave her two year college and start attending a 4 year institution and I think she is going to Cameron University in Lawton............I think.  Macy is a senior this year and will graduate come May probably.
Let me see, who else.  Oh, Kay Lynn is a new Grandmother and I do not really know Coy's daughter but she is the one that had a new baby.  So congratulations to all the new mothers and all the Grandmothers and GREAT Grandmothers out there.  Francis, I'm talking about you.
I don't get much news from anyone so you will have to deal with what is here.  If you would like me to put in some information about your family, just email me what you would like to share and I will be happy to do so.  Following are a couple of pictures for your enjoyment:                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Cousins, 7 years difference

     Dear Family,

For those of you who knew Aunt Juanita and had not heard yet, she passed away yesterday at home.  I understand it was a peaceful passing.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Potter's House Christian Fellowship Church, 21427 North 23rd Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85027 on Friday April 21st at 10:00am.  For those of you wishing to send flowers the church will receive them on Friday from 9:00 to 9:30am.

If you have any questions you can email me or call me on my cell (443)326-8786.  It would be appreciated if you would relay this to other family members who I may not have an email address for.

I would like to update my Potts Family PDL so if you are not a direct recipient of this please send me your email so I can include you in family news sharing.

Thank you, Love you all

If we do have a family Reunion in 2014 I am looking to have it at the same place we did in 2008.  The place is called Camp Lu Jo Kismif and is outside of Lawton Oklahoma about 15 miles.  It has two dormatories one of which would be Male and the other Female.

You need to let me know if you might attend before I go to any trouble to sit up committees and get people assigned to doing specific tasks.

Have a GREAT Weekend.

Michael
Well, I am getting into putting more information on this blog site.  I have family information to share if you want it and I have a question for all of you.  It will be 6 years next year since we have had a Family Reunion.  IF and only IF I get responses from you about having one next (Late May / Early June 2014 time frame) will I consider coordinating one again.  Try and get signed on to this blog as I will be updating it frequently and may have things on it worth reading.  If you have trouble getting on call me at (443) 326-8786 and I will try and walk you through it if I have my laptop handy.  Anyway, Who is for having a Family Reunion next year?  Let me know.

Love you all

Michael

Friday, January 20th. Three weeks into Retirement and Kathy and I are off on a Road Trip come Sunday. Kind of live Bob Hope and Bing Crosby in their Road to Whereever movies. Sunday it is down to Virginia Beach and Fort Story for the night and supper with Ashley Brown and Anaya her daughter. Monday we will continue on down to Jacksonville N.C. to see my cousin Vinita and her Family and then after a few days there we will head down to Charleston for a day, Savannah for a day on over to Pensacola Florida and then Houma Louisiana to see cousins there. Leaving Houma we are on to Corpus Christi and Friends there and then on up to San Antonio, Austin, Clebourne Texas to see some Friends there and then on to Snyder Oklahoma to finish up with my Fathers home (mine now). After that we will probably head to New Mexico for a week and then head back home to prepare for Cousins to come visit with us. I will try and blog some on the trip and include pictures so you will know how our First Real Road Trip goes. Avoir for the day.
