Monday..........Last of March

Well, back to work today........It is cloudy and overcast here and rained off and on most all day. Heard from Carolyn yesterday and she is getting on this blog and may use it soon and Joshua is now on it and using it. It is an easy way to communicate with a lot of the family.
Troy and Benda Hix are even on it and I can see we have one message from them.. Brenda.....don't be shy.........add as many messages as you want so we can keep up with this branch of our family in your neck of the world. You are more than welcome. As for the rest of you.........I have made your authors and it is not hard to figure out how to sign on so we can talk.............. I am waiting for you.

Have a nice week.................

Making my presence known

Well, this seems kind of interesting. Looks like this will be a test shot for now but I have a feeling I'll be typing a lot more in here in the future.

Perhaps we'll have some pretty neat little blogging experience going on here for a while.
Guess time will tell...

Until then,
Josh.

How to use this Blog

Today is Saturday and I do not have many people using this Blog yet to get messages back and forth to each other. I did hear from Caroline who said she would like to be on the team to help plan childrens activities. I think that is great and, Caroline, if you don't mind being the team lead on this that would be apprecited. Get a couple of other people to help you if you want.
I am new to this blogging also and if you are not sure how to do it you can either "Google" Blog or I think you should have the ability to "Post new Message" which should be at the top right of the blog you are reading.

I will try and make you all authors again and send you the link once more so we can use this as a way to communicate. Brenda and Troy Hix have already posted a message so I know it works somewhat but let us know what is on your mind and what you are doing and what you expect from the Family ReUnion.

Kathy is off to Japan and Korea for two weeks so I am Home alone (with Skye, of course) batching it. Hope I survive..............HA. :--)

Have a nice rest of the weekend and try and use this blog if you get it. Michael

Team Leaders needed.......Please Volunteer

For our Family ReUnion to function properly and as good as a well oiled machine I think we need teams to ramrod several functions that I envision us having. Of course.....several of us can get on a conference call and discuss what we want to do but here is the list I have of possible events.
I need someone to be the lead on: First and foremost ------ Someone needs to be in charge of making sure the food we need is bought. (We will worry about cooks when we are there)
1. A Family ReUnion Video -
2. Put a World Map up on cork board and provide pins so everyone can show where they are from.
3. Organize a Family Talent Show and host it. (I think we could use a microphone and speaker at this event...........anyone have one???)
4. Take Family Group Photo's and general photos of the whole event.
5. Organize and conduct a Family Auction whereby family can bring "treasured" items for auction.
6. Organize a story time for either everyone or just the younger family members about our family.
7. Organize a Family History Video with different family members telling what they remember about things our family has done in the past and events that were significant in the Potts Family.
8. Someone to put an Agenda together so we can stay on track..............sort of.
9. Someone to organize childrens activities and games so they do not get too bored.

If I have forgotten anything please feel free to make suggestions.

I............. of course.............. seem to be ramrodding the whole shebang and I hope I do not tick anyone off. But if we want it to go off well we will need some organization. Now........ who is willing to step up and volunteer and take charge of one of the items I have listed above. Spread the word. About the Family Reunion, about this blog, about my Web site. Keep passing the information along. That is all for today. Have a nice rest of the week.

Get the family to join so we can see what everyone is up to.

Well, it is Monday evening and Kathy and I are both home from work (which, by the way, came early and unwanted this morning). Back to the old grind after 4 days of being off. It gets harder and harder to go back and we are looking forward to retirement within the next year or so. We spent Easter with Travis and Martha and the kids and had a nice dinner and conversation and visit. Joshua and Cindy did not get a chance to join us as Cindy worked fixing and serving Easter Dinner to the students at the Maryland Marine Engineering School. This week will be very busy and then Kathy leaves at the end of the week to go to Japan and Korea for business. She is a very busy lady. We had hoped this year would not be as hectic as last but it has not started out slowly as we had hoped. We are trying to sell our boat............ trying to keep our parents in good health...........trying to make time to see our Children and Grandchildren........Trying to plan a family reunion........... We are very busy people.
Well, the day has been good and we will be going to bed soon and then getting up real early. Hope you all had a blessed day and the sun shone on you one and all.

Michael and Kathy

Hello from California

We hope everyone had a good Easter and were able to spend it with your family and loved ones. We spent the day at Brenda's sisters house in Vacaville. That seems to be the gathering place now for holidays and family functions.

The weather here is great right now and our green rolling hills are covered with yellow mustard flowers. I always hate to see May come as the hills start turning brown as the ground dries. We get very little rain in the summer.

It has been a very busy month for us as we have six birthdays this month, including Troys. He turned the big 65 this year.

We hope everyone escaped the floods and are safe and sound. Take care.

Happy Easter to you all

Today is Easter and I thank GOD for all he has given Kathy in I in this life. We have two fine sons and daughters-in-law. Two fine Grandchildren who are the apple of our eye. A great dog, although she is spoiled rotten and a nice roof over our head, food to eat and a job to go to. We realize a LOT of people are not nearly as lucky and not nearly as fortunate so we put them in our Prayers and we hope that life will somehow get better for them.
We know how bitter being apart can be and we pray for our fighting forces in Afgahnistan and Iraq and ask GOD to keep them safely until they can come back home again.
We are fixing to head out to Lovettsville to spend Easter with Travis, Martha and the kids and are taking Joshua and Cindy with us. Lovettsville is in the foothills of the Shenandoah's and the country this time of year will be blooming out with new leaves on trees and daffodils and redbuds and cherry and peach and it will just be alive with new life. Gives us pause to remember that we too, in the winter of our lives, will not die out but will be renewed and will come back in the spring to a new life and a new season........... Kathy and I hope you all have a very Blessed Day. Be safe and keep your health...................."Live long and prosper"

Michael
